Meet Teeter — a Shy Sweetheart Ready to Learn the World at Her Own Pace

Teeter is new intake who will be ready for adoption after her vetting and spay is complete.

Teeter is a tender, nervous, and incredibly sweet girl who’s still figuring out how big the world is. She may start off shy and scared, but her curiosity shines through in the cutest ways — like when she looks at her own reflection in the oven door or mirrors and whines softly, unsure but fascinated. She loves being close to her person at all times, often wrapping herself around your legs when she’s unsure or walking right on your heels for comfort.

Once she feels safe, Teeter becomes cuddly, gentle, and eager to be near you. She’s friendly with people and other pets, and would likely do well in a home with kids and possibly another dog or cat to help her build confidence. Whether in an apartment or a house, she just wants a calm, patient environment where she can grow.

Teeter is still learning the basics of touch and trust — she may flinch at first, but she’s improving every day. She doesn’t yet understand the leash and may run away when it’s brought toward her, so she’ll need slow, positive introductions to walking and handling. She’s also working on going to her crate on her own, though she sleeps wonderfully at bedtime. When crated and left alone, she may cry or bark, but she’s making progress.

House training is coming along, and she’s doing well with staying close during outdoor time, even if she still prefers walking on your heels. She’s not fully comfortable yet, but she’s trying, and that effort says everything about her gentle heart.

Teeter will thrive with a patient family who understands that confidence takes time. With love, reassurance, and a steady routine, she’ll blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion who just wants to be by your side.

If you’re looking for a shy, curious, cuddly little soul who will reward your patience with deep trust and love, Teeter may be the perfect match.

Teeter's adoption fee is $850 which includes microchip, spay, vaccines, heartworm test, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, deworming, and complete vet check. If you are interested in adopting Teeter, please fill out our online adoption application at www.helpingpawsrescue.ca.
